Venues…reception halls..cutting cost (small rant)?
Were looking to get married in august 2011 a small ceremony and large reception
But all the venues were looking at cost 5-9 thousand including decor,table chairs,catering and cake..my family was all excited and everyone wanted to help finance the wedding
But when it actually come down to it no one is dishing out the cash..and it seems like no one understand how important it is to book a venue now..just to insure we get it for the date we desire as well as lowering our weekly/monthly paymants on the hall instead of waiting until the last minute and the payments are higher the longer we we wait…and my fiance god bless him because he is so clueless..he’s like babe its not until august why are you stressing??..am I the only that notice the wedding is 7 months way?
My question is…how can we cut cost or find a cheaper hall??

You may be better off renting out a VFW Hall, Community Center or K of C Hall instead of the reception halls. The plus to the VFW halls and those like them are that you can cater your own food (at significant savings), you can handle the expense for alcohol, decorations cakes, etc. according to YOUR wishes and YOUR budget and not what the reception halls dictate to you.
The halls dictate that you must have your food catered by them as well as your cake, your decorations and your alcohol all at a big mark-up.
